Separ International Expands Environmental Commitment through Carbonfree Partnership

May 24, 2021

Risk management and training company Separ International, which provides personal security, secure accommodation and training mainly for journalists and NGOs, has expanded its sustainable operations initiatives by joining the Carbonfree Small Business Partnership Program.

“Separ International is committed to our responsibility to reduce our impact on climate change Internationally through many areas,” explains Leighanne Pitman Smith, Group HR Director.  “We chose to partner with Carbonfund after much research and feel that their beliefs and commitments match perfectly what we as a business are looking to achieve.”

By neutralizing 36 metric tons of estimated annual operating emissions through support of Carbonfund’s forest conservation and reforestation projects around the world, Separ International has begun a program towards carbon neutrality.

The firm is taking pro-active steps to try to reduce its carbon footprint as a company, by choosing “green” flights for staff where possible, recycling in all offices and working hard to give back to local community in all office locations. Separ International plans to install solar panels in its offices and encourage gardens to grow fruit and vegetables.
