The Russas-Valparaiso Projects

The Russas-Valparaiso Projects will preserve over 160,000 acres of a rare and highly endangered tropical rainforest eco-system while simultaneously providing this rural forest community with a new school and major educational programs, a new health clinic, land title, and direct payments for forest conservation.

The project areas are facing extensive deforestation pressures as a result of cattle ranching and subsistence agriculture in the Project zone.  Russas-Valparaiso will mitigate deforestation and preserve rich bio-diversity while simultaneously generating sustainable economic and educational opportunities for this local rain forest community.
