Providing Best Carbon Offset Projects at Carbonfund.org Foundation
Founded in 2003, Carbonfund.org Foundation is a leading non-profit carbon offset provider making it easy and affordable for both individuals and organizations to mitigate their climate impacts by supporting some of the best carbon offset projects on the planet. Carbonfund.org supports the best carbon offset projects in three main categories; energy efficiency, renewable energy, and avoided deforestation/reforestation. Carbonfund.org Foundation carbon offset projects are always verified to the highest third- party certification standards on the planet such as the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the American Carbon Registry (ACR) and Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Standard (CCB.) Experts agree we need a major reduction in CO2 over the next fifty years. With this in mind, we need to support the best carbon offset projects now.
The Russas-Valparaiso Projects
The Russas-Valparaiso Projects will preserve over 160,000 acres of a rare and highly endangered tropical rainforest eco-system while simultaneously providing this rural forest community with a new school and major educational programs, a new health clinic, land title, and direct payments for forest conservation.
The project areas are facing extensive deforestation pressures as a result of cattle ranching and subsistence agriculture in the Project zone. Russas-Valparaiso will mitigate deforestation and preserve rich bio-diversity while simultaneously generating sustainable economic and educational opportunities for this local rain forest community.
Russas-Valparaiso are the model for successfully utilizing carbon credit revenues as the best approach to preserving these extraordinary forest eco-systems. The projects are developed to the highest standards including Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate, Community, Biodiversity Standard (CCB) and awarded “Triple Gold Distinction” for climate change mitigation, biodiversity, and community net positive benefits, which only a few projects in world have achieved.
