California-based Nomadix launched in 2015 with The Only Towel You Need® – a multi-purpose towel that performs for any activity, including travel, yoga, boating, and at the beach. Nomadix understands that the environmental footprint of the products people buy will have an impact on the planet that lasts longer than we will. A commitment to discovering durable, multi-purpose, responsibly manufactured solutions that will leave the planet better than we found it is part of its ethos – Own less. Do more. Today Nomadix is carried in major retailers in the United States, including REI, West Marine, and Boardriders and distributed in 31 countries around the world. Environmental Commitment:

Part of living with less means using what you already have. You never waste a thing. With so much plastic waste floating in our oceans and trashing our communities, we’ve committed to using post-consumer recycled materials for everything we make. And since our fibers are designed to dry quickly and resist bacteria that cause towel funk, you can wash less and save precious water.

Through years of research and development turning recycled plastics into durable and versatile fibers, developing responsible manufacturing practices, avoiding harmful dyes that waste and pollute our water, we protect the world we love.

We measured our 2021 carbon footprint and converted our data into emissions — counting every towel from the start of our supply chain that ended up in our customers hands. Reaching Climate Neutrality means we’re removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere at the same rate that we’re emitting them. We offset 100% of our emissions with the help of Carbonfund to support renewable energy and forestry projects.

Offsetting is a temporary fix, which is why we’re committed to further action toward positive environmental change. With the Nomadix Roadmap to Sustainability and a bold list of commitments, we plan to cut our emissions in half by 2025.

  1. Reduce air freight shipping emissions by 50% in the next two years.
  2. Transition to at least 50% renewable energy at our HQ office and warehouse.
  3. Remove 100% of virgin plastic from our production in the next year.

“We have been developing products with post-consumer recycled materials and keeping our footprint as low as possible with minimalist packaging,” said Founder and CEO Zack Helminiak. “But the moment calls for all companies to also offset emissions and make a collective commitment to a better future.”

“Since the brand’s inception, Nomadix has been inextricably tied to the health and sustainability of our planet. We are excited to partner with Carbonfund, a leader in the industry, to ensure we are supporting verified projects to solve a problem we understand to be an urgent threat.” Mia Helminiak, Director of Community Engagement
