Following decades of work by engaged green teams in Langan offices to continually improve our ability to operate in the most environmental-friendly way, Langan was proud to formalize our sustainability program in 2014 and publish our first Corporate Sustainability Plan. Since then, the firm has focused on our four pillars of sustainability, increasing our Commitment to operating in a more ecologically sound manner, developing Opportunities for employees to help our clients improve the sustainability of their projects, to increase the Knowledge of our employees and clients regarding eco-issues in our own offices and to promote environmental Citizenship in the communities where we live, work and play. Highlights of our recent successes include:
- Establishing a Sustainable Project of the Year Award to recognize and promote projects that embody sustainable design;
- Achieving LEED office certification for several offices
- Reducing company-wide paper usage by 45% over four years
- Initiating carbon-neutral internal meetings and workshops
- Publishing sustainability guidelines for using and purchasing materials and office products
- Establishing active green teams in each Langan office to implement local initiatives
