Hafner Vineyard is a small three generation family winery in Alexander Valley near Healdsburg in Sonoma County. We produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malbec and Rosé from only grapes grown at the winery. We have been growing grapes and producing wine for over five decades. Our wines are only sold direct to people at home and leading California restaurants; not in any wine shops. Three generations of Hafners work here to deliver quality wine at a great value with personal service.

Our commitment to the environment has been long rooted in our family and the Hafner Vineyard culture. We see ourselves as stewards of the land. We are on this planet for a very short time in comparison to the land, so we believe it is our responsibility to care for it and preserve it for future generations. While we have 96 acres of vineyards, we have over 150 acres of rolling hill oak woodlands (over half of our property) that we leave for the flora and fauna. We aim to make and market wine with the smallest impact on the earth. All the energy we use is 100% renewable and 100% local, including 37% coming from our own solar array. We are “certified sustainable” through the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance. We minimize our water use as much as possible, just 8 gallons per case, much lower than industry standards. We invite you to learn more at: www.hafnervineyard.com/about/sustainability and we always welcome ideas and thoughts.

“We want to do everything we can to minimize our impact on the environment. Since we sell our wine direct to people at home, having our wine shipped all over the country is a large contributor to our carbon emissions. Partnering with Carbonfund was the right thing to do and the least we could do to reduce our footprint and protect the planet for future generations.” – Kate Hafner, 3rd generation Hafner family member
