Each member of the Association participates in offsetting and each member not only implements energy-efficiency programs but also recycles all materials wherever possible.
Many of our members use environmentally-friendly solvents such as Green Earth (silicone dioxide), Solvair (liquified carbon dioxide) and the new biodegradable K4. Those who use older solvents such as perchloroethylene or hydrocarbon make sure to recycle their solvents as long as possible and dispose of all hazardous wastes in a safe, approved manner.
We partnered with Carbonfund.org so that each of us, regardless of the solvent used, can offer brides the option of carbon-neutral gown cleaning and preservation.
“More brides than ever are concerned about their carbon footprints,” notes Kermit Engh, president of the Association, “and now brides can ensure the beauty of their wedding gowns and safeguard the planet’s future, too.”
