GENICON is an emerging leader in the design, production and global distribution of patented innovative minimally invasive products and solutions designed to deliver better patient outcomes. GENICON is driven to meet the needs of modern day healthcare through harmonization of clinical, ecologic and economic demands of a global healthcare system.
As part of the company’s sustainability commitment, GENICON recently became a Carbonfree® Business Partner, neutralizing 72 metric tonnes of annual operating emissions by supporting forest conservation and carbon dioxide sequestration projects.
“We strive to work in harmony with the planet by being environmentally responsible and conscious,” says Olga Haberland, International Business Development & Marketing for GENICON. “Carbonfund.org provides a great organized platform to give back to specific and tangible projects that enhance and protect our environment.”
GENICON’s goal to become a greener company starts with its products. In 2014, GENCION released a new line of visual bladeless trocars, named Natura™, that require 70% less plastic to produce than other pistol grip versions. Previous to this launch, GENICON successfully developed and released a new palm bladeless line of non-optical trocars, named Palm™ Bladeless, which are not only friendlier to the environment, they also provide another option to surgeons who prefer a lower profile grip. An additional benefit is that it costs less to produce, a savings that is passed along to the customer. Carbonfund.org is pleased to welcome GENICON to the ranks of environmentally responsible businesses joining the Carbonfree® Partnership program.
