Food.Stories.Travel. Joins Carbonfree® Small Business Partnership

February 12, 2020

New Carbonfree® Small Business Partner, Food.Stories.Travel. has taken the step to reduce a portion of its tour and operational emissions with Carbonfund.org for 2020.

Food.Stories.Travel. is a certified B Corporation Tour Operator organizing educational journeys connecting people, cultures, food and stories through travel in the Mediterranean and cooking classes in the USA.

By joining the Carbonfree® Small Business Partnership Program, Food.Stories.Travel. has reduced its estimated annual operating emissions by almost 80,000 pounds (36,000 kilograms) through donations to Carbonfund.org that support energy efficiency projects around the world, creating new technologies using less energy to achieve the same or improved operating results.

Food.Stories.Travel. maintains an environmental commitment beyond neutralizing emissions from its own estimated annual operations:

  • promoting values important to the tour operator such as sustainability, biodiversity, respect for local people, traditions, animals and the environment on tour, on local events , through social media ( Facebook,  Twitter and  Instagram ) and on their website.
  • featuring Slow Food Presidia (worldwide initiatives that support quality production at risk of extinction) on ALL tours through visits and tastings.
  • featuring Agriturismi (a family-run “farm stay” combining agriculture and tourism in a partially or totally transformed farmhouse) for accommodations and, when available, meals as well.

The company and staff work hard to limit environmental impact and support the community and are very proud to be a certified B Corporation as well as donating more than 1% of annual sales revenues through 1% for the Planet (as of December 2019 they’ve donated more than $21,000) to food literacy and environmental non-profit organizations.

Carbonfund.org welcomes Food.Stories.Travel. to our partnership program of environmentally-focused and sustainability-responsible companies.
