Green Kid Crafts, maker of kids craft monthly subscription boxes, is a great place to find eco-friendly gifts for kids. Green Kid Crafts delights over ten thousand kids across North America each month with fun, creative and eco-friendly craft and STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics), delivered right to their door through the company’s subscription program. Every month’s educational box is packed with 4-8 unique and engaging activity kits designed to foster a child’s creativity and confidence while helping to raise the nation’s next generation of creative leaders.
As a company founded by an environmental scientist, it makes sense that Green Kid Crafts is committed to ensuring that all of their activities, from process to product, have as little an impact on the environment as possible.
“At Green Kid Crafts, we care deeply about the environment and are finding innovative ways to reduce the environmental impact of our services by reducing emissions and waste from our operations,” says Penny Bauder, CEO and Founder. “Green Kid Crafts recognizes that we can’t do it alone—strategic partnerships are absolutely necessary to create meaningful, lasting change. We’re proud to partner with Carbonfund.org to offset our carbon emissions, and for guidance on reducing our overall footprint.”
Green Kid Crafts is a Carbonfree® Small Business Partner, donating to Carbonfund.org in order to neutralize 36 metric tonnes – almost 80,000 pounds – of greenhouse gas emissions.
Green Kid Crafts’ monthly boxes are developed by teachers and STEAM experts to support key developmental skills for kids ages 2-10. Each box includes a 12-page STEAM activity magazine and achievement badges. Their boxes are 100% recycled, and they minimize packaging and printing and use recycled materials. All of their science and art kits are bundled in special bags made of 100% recycled materials. To further their goal of raising the next generation of environmental leaders, they integrate sustainability into all of their monthly educational box themes as much as possible. Past monthly themes include Green Energy, Planet Protector, Endangered Species, Backyard Science Feathered Friends and Rainforest Science.
In addition to its carbon emissions offset program, Green Kid Crafts is Green America Approved, a member of 1% for the Planet, and has won numerous awards and designations for its responsible business practices.
