Segment provides the customer data infrastructure that businesses use to put their customers first. With Segment, companies can collect, unify, and connect their first-party data to over 200 marketing, analytics, and data warehousing tools.
Beginning with Earth Day 2017 and expanding in 2018, each Segment office calculated its CO2 emissions and made a donation to fully offset the calculated carbon footprint. Offsetting costs were calculated using this simple tool.
“We are all stewards of this planet. By reducing our carbon footprint where we can, and offsetting what we can’t, all twelve companies stand by a commitment to better the planet,” says Peter Reinhardt, CEO of Segment. “One of the ways we do this is by donating the amount of our annual calculated carbon footprint to Carbonfund.org. We’re putting our values into action, standing for what’s right, and challenging the administration on its regressive plans for environmental protection in the US.”
Segment further achieves its sustainability goals through energy-efficient practices, an office building that is LEED Gold certified, maintaining its status as a SF Green Business and offsetting remaining carbon emissions from its operations.
Today, over 19,000 companies across 71 countries use Segment, from fast-growing businesses such as Atlassian, Bonobos, and Instacart to some of the world’s largest organizations like Levi’s, Intuit, and Time. Segment enables these companies to achieve a common understanding of their users and make customer-centric decisions.
