The Paper Mill Store Continues Decade-Long Carbonfree® Shipping Program

Friday, 31 May 2019

The Paper Mill Store strives to provide customers with the best papers, envelopes and graphics arts tools available — including what might be the largest selection of eco-preferable fine paper products available online. The Paper Mill Store also is committed to making real change to its business practices to become a better steward of the environment, using as many eco-preferable processes and resources as possible.

Since January 1, 2008, The Paper Mill Store began a program in partnership with Carbonfund.org to calculate and offset 100% of the carbon dioxide produced by shipping products to customers’ doors.  To date, the program has offset almost 2000 metric tonnes — 4.4 million pounds — of carbon dioxide emissions.  This equates to the carbon emissions sequestered by planting 33,000 tree seedlings and allowing those trees to grow for ten years!

“We’re proud to be long time supporters of Carbonfund.org and appreciate their contribution to our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint,” acknowledges Brian J. Cowie, C.E.O. of CTI Paper Group, Inc.

The Paper Mill Store purchases wind power credits for its corporate offices and its converting and distribution center, in order to help protect the environment and reduce the use of foreign oil. Purchasing credits serves as a voluntary subsidy for the growth and expansion of wind power production, helping the US to move away from foreign oil while reducing the introduction of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

The Paper Mill Store sells over 5,000 recycled paper items, so customers need not compromise on choice, design or quality. Many premium and specialty papers — even translucent vellums — are made with high percentages of recycled fiber.

Carbonfund.org is proud to partner with The Paper Mill Store in our long-term partnership and in supporting their efforts to lead their industry in sustainability measures.
