Trade Winds Imports Renews Carbonfree® Partnership Program
Wednesday, 16 January 2019
Trade Winds Imports (TWI), a manufacturer and distributor of high quality modern bathroom vanities, has rejoined the Carbonfree® Business Partnership Program, mitigating almost 80,000 pounds of annual operating emissions through its annual donation to support reforestation projects around the world.
“In addition to our continuing production of furniture made from reclaimed and recycled materials, as well as our main factory’s reforestation efforts, we also recognize that organizations like Carbonfund.org take our commitment to a sustainable future even further,” explains Mike Bowman, Director of Marketing. “By offsetting our emissions and participating in reforestry efforts, we hope not only to neutralize our negative impact on climate, but also to leave a net positive footprint on the world.”
TWI began in 2008 as an e-tailer, but opened its first physical showroom in 2010. In 2012, TWI began manufacturing its own line of bathroom vanities that struck a good balance between quality and price, featuring sturdy handcrafted furniture.
Trade Winds Imports has always made an effort to make conscious energy decisions to help mitigate its environmental impact, but in 2016 those ethical decisions actually became closely tied to their business goals as well: the new line of “Woodland Collection” bathroom vanities, built with sustainably-sourced materials. The wood for the cabinetry overwhelmingly comes from reclaimed sources, mostly cedar and pine, and the factory where these cabinets are assembled participates in local reforestation efforts to ensure a steady future supply of ethically farmed recycled and reclaimed materials.
Trade Winds Imports’ customer service team is entirely based in the U.S. as well, and all staff are trained bathroom furniture experts. Their commitment to customer success is what drives the organization, and this commitment together with TWI’s sustainability initiatives separates it from other bathroom furniture brands and retailers.
