Shift Workspaces Becomes Carbon Neutral as Part of Ongoing Sustainability Commitment

Tuesday, 27 November 2018

Shift Workspaces, a locally owned Denver, CO shared workspace provider, recently became a carbon neutral company, in partnership with Carbonfund.org.

“Being carbon neutral is important today more than ever because we are setting a new standard on how business should be done,” explains Grant Barnhill, Founder of Shift Workspaces.  “It’s no longer about who can do, produce, or operate more, instead it’s about who can do, produce, and operate better. We believe that our efforts demonstrate our commitment to our local community, our employees, the environment and our members.”

Shift Workspaces calculated the estimated annual operating emissions for its locations and employees, then made the corresponding donation to Carbonfund.org to purchase and retire carbon offsets in forest preservation and reforestation projects that neutralize the negative impact of its estimated operating emissions.

Shift is passionate about building communities that enhance the health, peace of mind and the quality of life of its members, employees and neighbors. Shift works to strengthen its local communities with the hope that they might begin to resemble the world in which we all want to live. Shift’s staff is mindful of its environmental footprint and has committed to replace more resources than they consume as a company. Since the first Shift community opened in 2012, the company has striven to be a business that is socially and environmentally responsible.

Shift Workspaces offers two work locations to the Denver community, featuring memberships that offer private office, dedicated work desk, co-working, virtual office, meeting room and event space options.

Going forward, Shift will focus on water conservation, electrical conservation, and maintaining a zero carbon footprint as its ongoing commitment to environmentally sustainable operations.
