New Carbonfree® Business Partnership for Knotte – The Organic Cotton Company
Thursday, 9 August 2018
KNOTTE is a 100% certified organic cotton company making raw, undyed and unbleached organic bed sheets in ways that are much better for people and planet. KNOTTE provides customers with sustainable bedding choices without making compromises on comfort or quality.
“At KNOTTE, we’ll always stay true to our love of nature and mission to supporting sustainable cotton production using certified organic methods and renewable energy technology,” states David and Minna O’Weger, Co-founders of KNOTTE. “We are committed to offset all additional CO2 emissions to help preserve our planet and inspire upcoming generations.”
To achieve this commitment, KNOTTE joined the Carbonfree® Business Partnership Program with Carbonfund.org, to offset 36 metric tonnes of operational emissions each year by supporting forest conservation and reforestation projects around the world.
All KNOTTE products are made from unbleached, undyed organic cotton, in order not to contribute to groundwater contamination with pesticides, dyes, and chemicals used in traditional textile manufacturing. KNOTTE products are made in a family-owned facility that operates solely on 100% solar-power energy, and all waste water, except sanitary water, is treated by an effluent treatment system and recycled to water their community organic garden. These commitments along with their Carbonfree® Business Partner status puts KNOTTE in a position of environmental leadership among cotton bedding companies.
