Lancôme Wants to Block out the Sun and Tell Everyone to be Carbonfree™
Lancôme, a subsidiary of L’Oreal, has outlined a series of “Eco-Chic” objectives for 2007. The beauty-giant will roll out four of its major programs later this year in cooperation with Carbonfund.org. Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann sparked the eco-campaign with her request to have Lancôme offset her frequent travel involved with promoting the brand. Shortly thereafter, the program developed into something much bigger.

All travel of the Lancôme spokesmodels will in 2007 will be offset with Carbonfund.org, courtesy of Lancôme.
Protect your skin, and the planet, from the sun
Lancôme’s newest line of skin care products, Primordiale Cell Defense, aims to block 99% of skin-damaging free radicals associate with UV rays. In conjunction with Carbonfund.org, Lancôme will plant a tree for each of the first 10,000 units sold. In addition, the entire release will be “paperless” – Lancôme will use electronic media kits and will keep the associated CDs and paper to a minimum.

Lancôme will offer its press information on its website starting in the second half of 2007. This will feature press releases, images, advertising, and behind-the-scenes video for select journalists and media organizations.
Boutiques go Carbonfree™
All four Lancôme boutiques will go Carbonfree™ by offsetting all carbon dioxide emissions associated with their electricity use.
