Description
Our primary focus is on the development of global mechanisms for the effective and efficient governance and employment of space activities. To this end, we are dedicated to the secure and sustainable use of outer space for the benefit of humanity and the environment.
Commitment
As our name suggests, we are focused on working towards a secure world. We are unique in that we consider the secure and sustainable use of space as an avenue for peaceful coexistence in space and on the Earth. Our long-term objective is to 1) establish a safe and secure environment conducive to the sustained use of outer space, 2) to prevent conflicts on Earth from entering space, and 3) to prevent space from becoming a flashpoint for violence. We work with partners around the world, and in our capacity as a permanent observer to the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), to promote, establish and maintain cooperative mechanisms to prevent an arms race in outer space and for the international community to share data on space situational awareness, space traffic management, orbital debris mitigation, tracking and deflection of near Earth asteroids and Earth observation.
