Founded in May 2007, Tripbase pioneered the Internet’s first “destination discovery engine”. Tripbase eliminates the time-consuming and frustrating online search process by providing travelers with unbiased, personalized travel recommendations for their next trip. Tripbase was named Top Travel Website for Destination Ideas by Travel and Leisure magazine in November 2008.

Commitment

Tripbase offsets our carbon emissions from all areas of the business. We’ve also introduced office procedures to save energy including split climate control, recycling batteries, paper and toner cartridges and low flush volume toilets. 80% of our employees travel to work by foot, bicycle or scooter.

We also raise awareness of the importance of green travel amongst users of our site and within the wider online travel community. We produced and distributed a CO₂ widget to enable flyers to calculate the carbon emissions of their flights. We also promoted green travel through our annual Travel Blog Awards and regularly inform and educate about green travel via our Travel Blog and on Twitter.
