Commitment
As a CarbonFree® partner, GIA Publications, Inc. has chosen to offset its carbon footprint by supporting a combination of efforts in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions that include renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation. As publishers, reforestation is of particular significance to GIA. In addition to its partnership with Carbonfund.org, GIA established a green committee which examines day-to-day operations in an effort to find and institute “greener” practices. GIA Publications, Inc. is proud to be in partnership with Carbonfund.org, part of our company-wide initiative to be Green. Through our partnership with Carbonfund.org, we have virtually eliminated our carbon footprint including offsetting carbon emissions from shipping music to our customers and air travel for our staff. We believe this is an important and necessary obligation as citizens of the 21st Century.
In addition to joining Carbonfund.org, below are some of the other recent changes we have made to be Green:
1. Our catalogs print on recycled paper with soy-based inks
2. Comprehensive recycling of excess paper and aluminum
3. More insulation in our building
4. New energy-efficient lighting throughout our building
5. New energy-efficient thermostats throughout our building
